PAMELA PARKER

Pamela only got involved in Hell in a Handbag Productions because she loves Mr. David Cerda, and, regardless of what he says, she isnottoo old to carry furniture up the stairs. Okay - she really started working with HIAH because she missed the excitement of props and was “born to do props." That is, at least, according to her daughter, who was raised from 3-months-old in rehearsals around Chicago. Besides working with the fantastic ensemble of HIAH, Pamela has owned and operated RedBox Workshop – a Chicago scenic/exhibit studio for the past 30 years. At RBW, she generally bosses people around, makes up the rules, and oversees, well, everything while trying not to say, "I told you so." Pamela's official credits include designing properties for 8 seasons at Chicago Shakespeare Theater for the Mainstage as well as many student and special productions; 2 seasons for Northlight Theater; and 3 mainstage productions and 8 seasons of Children's Productions at The Marriot Lincolnshire Theater, as well as several original productions at Silver Dollar City and Dollywood. Pamela started honing her special theater skills before she even knew it was a career possibility. Eventually, she spent 4 years of her "80's girl" phase in the Technical and Design Theater program at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. Truly there is nothing more satisfying for Pamela than finding the absolutely, exactly, perfect prop that no one in the audience ever notices!
